2010s Warzone

Warzone Resurrection

The following minis are all from the ill fated Prodos Resurrection era of Warzone.

Bauhaus

From it's beginning, The Bauhaus Megacorporation had a well-deserved reputation for engineering excellence and now, nearly 1400 years later, this reputation still holds true. During the colonization of the solar system, all the Megacorporations employed their skills in the construction of ships, atmospheric processing plants and gravity regulators. In addition to their industrial reputation, they were also recognized for their honourable business ethics. The Bauhaus Megacorporation rarely offered the most appealing deals and they were never the cheapest, but agreements signed with them were always honoured.

As one might expect, the Bauhaus reputation for excellence extends onto the battlefield. Their military hardware is generally of a high standard and their mechanical and armoured support is notably superior to that of the other Megacorporations. Combined with good discipline and highly trained troops, the Bauhaus army is one of the most effective in the solar system. Following the culture of military service the troops themselves are also well motivated and follow a code of honour that has earned them respect throughout the Megacorporations.

Bauhaus Hussars

Hussars are the regular line infantry of the Bauhaus Corporation. They are among the best equipped and armed of all the regular corporate armies and as every citizen of Bauhaus is expected to serve in the military at some point, they are never without a steady flow of recruits.

The above mini is from the Warzone Resurrection KS, I reshaped the legs (IMO the stand was too wide) under hot water, works like a charm! After that the mini was mounted on a 25 mm MDF base.

Grizzly GBT-49 Super Heavy Tank

The Grizzly from last years Kickstarter finally arrived! It is a very fine kit, you get some big fat resin blocks to assemble. Everything fits more or less smoothly together, some minor fitting problems can be easily covered. More on that later. I am happy!

The tank is a Warzone classic, featured on the old Bauhaus RPG book and once even released as a model. It has some strange design elements, like the blade like tracks or the anti infantry gun on the rear axle! For me this just adds to the charm of this brutal design!

The pics still show the tank a bit as WIP, since the two additional turrets behind the main turret were miscasts, replacements are on the way. But maybe I will cover the circles with additional air intakes...

I also “pimped” the tank here and there. The antenna was added since the shorter original one was broken off. (my kit arrived in a too big box with almost no protecting wrap or so, the good shape of the model says everything about the sturdy material Prodos is casting there kits.)

The fuel tank is from a GW kit and the wooden box is a resin after market tank storage piece. I added them since some ugly fitting lines were originally at the rear of the kit (see above).

The main turret sat a bit low (See A). I really feared that some of the finer details would be damaged during play, so I had to raise it a bit higher. IMO still a fitting look, like a WW II KV-2! The solution was simple, I added a MDF base (B) and voila, all fine (C!).

And since almost every time someone is asking about a scale comparison, here is the Grizzly together with a GW Leman Russ!

The Brotherhood

“It is said that the formation of the Brotherhood rewrote the course of history. The Brotherhood was formed in 2275 A.D. by the first Cardinal, Nathaniel Durand, following the end of the First Corporate Wars. It's foundation drew all the Megacorporations together into unity. A new calendar was created in the year of the Cardinal's inauguration and dates were henceforth written as Y.C. -In the "Year of the Cardinal". From it's earliest days, the Brotherhood established themselves as a martial force and not simply a clerical order guiding humanity with words of wisdom and peace; the times are too dark, the enemy too prone to slaughter for such a charitable expression of faith. Did not the Cardinal himself lead an army of thousands against the "Apostle of War" and did he not smite down and cleave into bloody ruin many a hell-spawned demon sent against him? He did; and as in all things, the Brotherhood follows what Cardinal Durand taught them.

The military wing of the Brotherhood, which forms the larger part of the Inquisition, is growing all the time. From the moment one joins the Brotherhood one is considered part of a holy war and as such one highly motivated by devotion to the Cardinal. The Brotherhood military is varied and consists of a large quantity of standard troops augmented by specially trained assignment warriors with particular skills or equipment, best suited to the mission in hand.

When The Brotherhood rose from the ashes, then another, much darker power awoke with it - The forces of Dark Legion were spread all over the universe and attacked humanity. Activity of the Dark Legion started when an Imperial ship landed on a new planet, the last planet of our solar system, planet Nero. All of the Megacorporations were led by the Brotherhood in one last fight against the Dark Legion forces, within the jungles of Venus.” (from Prodos webside)

Capitol

Capitol was the first Megacorporation to fully appreciate the commercial viability of colonising the solar system. Taking the initiative, they invested a massive amount of resources in the construction of a permanent launch facility and resource depot on Earth's Moon (Luna). Their investment paid huge dividends as traffic throughout the solar system increased and all of the Megacorporations began using the Capitol base. They developed a reputation for logistical expertise that persists to this day, for their supply lines and rapid deployment record is by far the most impressive of all the corporations.

The Capitol Military reflects the emphasis on individuality, which is prevalent in their society at large. They possess a large regular army but the majority of conscripts join up in the firm belief that they are destined for service in one of the special-forces divisions and as such, the Capitol military force has a hugely varied selection of specialist troops.

Captain Henry Thomas

Captain Henry Thomas is the commander of the 44th Airborne Calvary, more commonly known as the Ghost Raiders. The Ghost Raiders and Thomas specifically, take a quantifiable portion of the media limelight of the Capitol military forces. They are well aware of the part that they play in keeping morale high amongst the citizens of Capitol and they relish the attention.

They are far from camera shy and will play up to military correspondents with farfetched tales of heroics, often significantly elaborating the truth, knowing that their words will be lapped up by the Capitol citizenry. However, the gung-ho heroics of the ‘drop-jockeys’ (as the media like to call them), hides a high mortality rate, even when compared to the other Airborne corps.

No modifications at all, just an incredible good sculpted mini! Hopefully my paintjob gives it credit.

Capitol Light Infantry

The grunts of the Capitol forces, the Light Infantry are an omnipresent sight in every Capitol Warzone. Each and every one is armed with a standard issue combat knife, M50 Rifle and their trusty under slung grenade launcher.

The above mini is from the Warzone Resurrection KS, I did a head swap however. The Light Infantry helmet is true to the original artwork, but somehow it does not work for me. After that the mini was mounted on a 25 mm MDF base.

Capitol Airborne Cavalry

Airborne Cavalry are a highly respected part of the Capitol Military force and recognised for their insanity. Nothing makes these soldiers happier than the rush of free falling, whilst firing their Lance Rocket Launchers and scattering their foes.

The above mini is from the Warzone Resurrection KS, I only used the Airborne head and backpack, otherwise right out of the box. The mini will serve in double duty not only as part of the 44th Airborne Calvary but also as an Arkham Knight crew mercenary.

Martian Banshees

The Martian Banshees are one of the Capitol Corporation’s most unusual Special Forces units.

It recruits only from those who have lost families to the operations of Mishima or the Dark Legion in conflicts on Mars. Banshees are desperate and deadly men and women who have sworn to sell their lives dearly in search of vengeance.

They are an elite airborne unit which is dropped on special Banshee rocket packs into the very heart of any conflict. The howling wail of their engines and the unsettling decoration of their face masks give the unit its prominent name.

As with Thomas, no modifications at all on this mini.

Mishima

Of all the Megacorporations, Mishima holds itself most closely to the ancient traditions of its origins. Mishima suffered badly during the Fall because so much of their wealth had been accumulated through the design of microprocessors and the generation of powerful AI's. But as history has repeatedly shown, Mishima has a remarkable capacity for resilience. Their adherence to duty has seen them accomplish many things that other Megacorporations considered impossible, not least of which was the successful settling of the infernal world of Mercury.

The Mishima Megacorporation has a completely unique mindset; one that is rigid and elegant but also completely unforgiving, these values are prized by even the most lowly of their citizens. It is this introspective method of thought that has led them into much controversy over the centuries. Most memorably of all, the rift that sprang up between Mishima and the Brotherhood during the Neronian Heresy. This division is not entirely healed, even to this day.

Following the divergence of Mishima from the teachings of the Cardinal, Mishima established the "Schools of Enlightenment", which many see as an act of heresy. The Brotherhood however, saw no evidence of the Dark Symmetry in the schools and so tolerated their existence. This was seen by many in the Curia as a wise move as it allowed Mishima to concede the Brotherhood's spiritual authority without losing face. Others see it as a display of The Brotherhood's weakness and a sign that Mishima are falling ever closer into shadow.

Crimson Devils

“Crimson Devils are an unusual military regiment that is not considered to be a part of the Mishiman armed forces. Instead they are ‘officially’ classed a military-triads hybrid. Their battlefield role centres on ruthless surgical strikes where they sow death, terror and confusion. Only the Ronin Samurai, who have already lost their own honour, are allowed to train Crimson Devils. The Crimson Devils favour close combat and the use of the Ceremonial Katana, but are also trained to use standard-issue Mishiman firearms. Crimson Devils are ornately dressed in shades of red, with masks that bear the twisted and unsettling faces of mythical Oni-Demons. The surgically attached mask seals the unscarred faces of the wearer behind specially designed breathing apparatus, protecting them from even the most polluted air of the Solar Systems. The masks may only be removed by experts on the request of the Liege-Lords and to attempt removal otherwise would rip flesh from the face of it’s bearer in an agonising and mutilating wound.”
The Crimson Devil above is from Prodos Warzone range. It was the first mini I bought after the initial KS, I was blown away by the casting quality, an incredible improvement. The only thing I do not like is the slight scale creep, the gun is bigger than the Hatamoto gun!

Hatamoto

“The Hatamoto are bedressed in heavy armour and often fill the role of bodyguard.
It is a great honour for any Mishiman warrior to be chosen by their Liege-Lord for service as an elite guard.
As a Hatamoto, the warrior is instated as guard to the higher echelons of Mishima elite, including the Lord Heir himself.
Trusted and honoured to an equal extent, this is the highest position any Samurai could ever hope for. These troops are the best infantry that the Mishima Corporation has to offer, with a perfect skill balance of traditional close combat training as well as a high proficiency in firearm use.
The Hatamoto represent the absolute, unequivocal masters of warfare in the Mishiman domain.”

I have received most of my KS minis, as expected I like Mishima the most, consequently the 1st mini painted is a Hatamoto. I could not resist and made a head change (from the Samurai unit).
