It is the rules lighter version of Blood Bowl, which is IMO to overloaded with special rules to be in any way accessible for new players. I played it a couple of times and really like it so far. I started with a Norse team, consequently I want all my following teams will have some Nordic touch (at least as far as the names are concerned). So - first two teams:
Midgard Ice Dragons
From left to right: Lineraider Liv, Ulfwererer Wulf Wulfsson (yes the Wulfson family is not famous for creative names...), Lineraider Henrik, Berserker Magnus Swafnirsson (“little” twin brother of Freya), Björn the Beer Boar, Team Leaderess Valkyrie Freya Swafnirsdottir (1 minute older “big” twin sister of Magnus) and Lineraider Benny.
The Ice Dragons are out of the Norse Blood Bowl box, in Blitz Bowl you only need half of miniatures. I was really blown away by the sculpts, just look at the faces below.
