Iron Man (Anthony "Tony" Stark)

History:

Anthony Stark, son of industrialist Howard Stark, demonstrated his mechanical aptitude and inventive genius at a very early age, enrolling in college electrical engineering program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the age of 15. When he was 21, he inherited his father's business, Stark Industries, and within a few years turned it into a multimillion-dollar industry complex whose chief contracts were for weaponry and munitions for the U.S. government.

Stark was sent to Vietnam to supervise a field test for one of his tranistorized weapons. While he was there Stark trip on a booby trap and a piece of shrapnel was lodged in his chest. The gravely injured Stark was taken captive by the Communist leader Wong-Chu, and was informed that within a week the shrapnel would penetrate his heart and kill them. Wong-Chu offered Stark at deal: if he built the Communist a powerful weapon, want to allow Stark to undergo an operation to save his life. Stark agreed, hoping to gain time and access to tools.

Stark was given access to a small laboratory in communist territory with another captive, the renowned Oriental physicist Professor Ho Yinsen. With the incense help Stark designed and built an electrically powered suit of armor and equipped with heavy offensive weaponry. The armor also contained pacemaker like device which enables Stark's heart to keep beating after the shrapnel entered it. Donning the suit, Stark connected it to its power source, an electrical generator. Lying on a table Stark was helpless until the suit was fully charged. His captor, Wong-Chu, sensed something was amiss and came to investigate with armed men. Realizing he was sacrificing his life, Professor Ho Yinsen went out to confront Wong-Chu, to give Stark the extra time he needed to charge the armored suit fully. As the Iron Man Stark avenged Yinsens death and scattered Wong Chu's guerilla troops. Then, still clad in his armor, which was necessary to keep his heart beating, stark made his way to the jungle, trying to escape communist territory.
Back in the United States, Stark redesigned his chest plate, which contained a pacemaker like device, reducing the chest plates size and wait so he could wear it under his normal clothing. Required to wear the armor is just played at all times to keep his heart beating, Stark decided to put to rest of the armor to regular use as well. After redesigning the entire armored suit to match the letter chest plate, Starks made the existence of the suit public. He concealed the suits true origin, as well as the fact that he himself had to wear the chest plate to live. Stark made it known that he would soon manufacture the arts suit, which he called "the human machine," for sale for the public.

Captain America (Steve Rogers)

History:

Steve Rogers was born during the Depression and grew up a frail youth in a poor family. His father died when he was a child, his mother when he was in his late teens. Horrified by newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to try to enlist in the Army but was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea to be accepted, General Chester Phillips of the U.S. Army offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment called Operation: Rebirth. Rogers agreed and was taken to a secret laboratory in Washington, D.C. where he was introduced to Dr. Abrahan Erskine (code named: Prof. Reinstein), the creator to the Super-Soldier formula.
After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Soldier serum. Given part of the compound intravenously and another part orally, Rogers was then bombarded by "vita-rays," a special combination of exotic (in 1941) wavelengths of radiation designed to accelerate and stabilize the serum's effect on his body. Steve Rogers emerged from the vita-ray chamber with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. A Nazi spy who observed the experiment murdered Dr. Erskine mere minutes after its conclusion. Erskine died without fully committing the Super-Soldier formula to paper, leaving Steve Rogers the Sole beneficiary of his genius.
Roger was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program, teaching him gymnastics, hand-to-hand combat and military strategy. Three months later, he was given his first assignment, to stop the Nazi agent called the Red Skull. To help him become a symbolic counterpart to the Red Skull, Rogers was given the red, white, and blue costume of Captain America.
During the final days of the war, he was trying to stop a bomb-loaded drone-plane launched by Nazi technician Baron Heinrich Zemo when the plane exploded, killing his partner Bucky; and throwing him unhurt into icy Arctic waters. The Super-Soldier formula prevented crystallization of Captain America's bodily fluid, allowing him to enter a state of suspended animation. Decades later, he was rescued by the newly-formed Avengers and became a cornerstone of the team. His might undiminished. Captain America remains a symbol of liberty and justice.

Thor (Jake Olsen)

History:

Descended from Norse gods, Thor nearly started a war by violating a truce with his family's ancient enemy -the Frost Giants. Odin, his father, banished the young god of thunder to Earth without his memory, to teach Thor how to behave as a mere mortal.
After a decade as an earthly doctor, Donald Blake was drawn to Norway, and a subsequent encounter with a race of warmongering aliens. While hiding out in a cave, Blake found a mysterious wooden cane that turned out to be the enchanted hammer Mjolnir -- which transformed him back into the mighty Thor. He drove off the alien invaders and took his place with the Avengers. Shaking off the Blake persona, Thor was soon forced to assume the human identity of EMS technician Jake Olsen.
Thor is forever torn between his divine home -the hallowed halls of Asgard - and the troubled lands of his adopted home, Earth.

The Vision

History:

The metal monstrosity called Ultron created the synthetic humanoid known as the Vision from the remains of the original, android Human Torch of the 1940s to serve as a vehicle of vengeance against the Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Himself constructed by size-changing scientist Henry Pym, Ultron inadvertently gained sentience and rebelled against the Avengers' resident roboticist. The living machine programmed the Vision's neural processors with the brain patterns of the ionically charged costumed champion called Wonder Man and implanted a control crystal to keep him in check.
Ultron dispatched the Vision to draw the Avengers into a deathtrap, and it was during this initial encounter that the diminutive dynamo known as the Wasp coined the synthezoid's name. At first sight of the spectral entity, the horrified heroine called him an "unearthly, inhuman vision." Moved by the Avengers' plight, the Vision betrayed his programming and helped the mighty mortals defeat his calculating creator.
The Vision served the Avengers faithfully for a number of years, standing with his teammates against the foes no single hero could defeat. Tentatively at first, the almost-human android embarked on a romantic relationship with the hex-casting heroine called the Scarlet Witch that blossomed into true love and marriage.

The Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)

History:

Wanda Maximoff was the daughter of the mutant called Magneto who pressed her into service in his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, costumed her, and named her the Scarlet Witch. For months she and her brother Pietro (Quicksilver) served Magneto out of a sense of obligation and fear of his reprisal. When the extraterrestrial Stranger transported Magneto from Earth, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver left the Brotherhood and petitioned for membership in the Avengers. They were inducted along with Hawkeye to take the place of the charter members, who wished a leave of absence.
At one point during her career as an Avenger, the Scarlet Witch underwent training in sorcery under the tutelage of a true witch named Agatha Harkness. The mental discipline of sorcery aided the Scarlet Witch's powers of concentration, enabling her to exercise much greater control over her mutant hexes than ever before. While an active member of the Avengers, the Scarlet Witch met, became romantically involved with, and married the synthetic man called the Vision.

History:

Pietro Maximoff and his sister Wanda (the Scarlet Witch) are the children of the mutant called Magneto. Magneto pressed them into service in his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, costumed them, and named them the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. For months they served Magneto out of a sense of obligation and fear of his reprisal. As members of the Brotherhood, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch aided Magneto in his terrorist campaigns against humanity and helped him combat the original members of the X-Men.
When the Brotherhood was defeated by the overwhelming powers of the alien Stranger, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch quit the Brotherhood and became later in their careers members of the Avengers, a world-renowned team of super heroes. They were inducted along with Hawkeye to take the place of the charter members, who wished to take a leave of absence. Although the hot-tempered Quicksilver and Hawkeye often both rebelled against his orders, Avengers leader Captain America moulded them into valuable team members.
Humanity's suspicion of mutants still rankled Quicksilver, and he briefly rejoined Magneto after the latter returned to Earth, compelling his sister to come with him. Months after the X-Men and Avengers defeated Magneto, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch resumed their membership in the Avengers.

Mr Fantastic (Reed Richards)

History:

Born in Central City, California, Reed is the son of Nathaniel and Evelyn Richards. Since Nathaniel is a scientific genius, it’s no surprise that Reed is too. Reed has always been something of a prodigy, enrolling in college level courses at the age of fourteen. Reed attended numerous colleges including State University in Hegeman, New York.
At Empire State University, he met and became roommate of Benjamin J. Grimm. Reed had already begun designing a starship capable of traveling in hyperspace. Sharing his plans with his new roommate, Grimm jokingly volunteered to pilot the craft.
When Reed continued his education by attending Columbia University in Manhattan, he rented a room in a boarding house owned by the aunt of a young girl named Susan Storm. To his embarrassment, the young girl instantly fell in love with him. Even though Reed had to move on, they continued to carry a torch for each other. Moving on to Harvard where Reed earned a Ph.D. in both physics and electrical engineering, all this by the age of 22. After spending six years in the military, Reed began using his inheritance, along with government funding, to finance his research. Determined to reach the stars, the project began, based in Central City.
Susan Storm, now an adult, moved into the area and within a short time found herself engaged to Reed. Likewise, Reed’s old college roommate had gone on to become a successful test pilot and astronaut and was indeed slated to pilot the craft.
All seemed well: however, when the government threatened to cut funding and cancel the project, Reed, Ben, Sue and her younger brother Johnny, all decided to sneak aboard the starship and take it up immediately. They knew they had not completed all the testing that had been planned but Reed was confident they would be safe.
However, when their ship passed through the Van Allen belt they found their cockpit bombarded with nearly lethal doses of cosmic radiation. Reed had somehow neglected to account for the abnormal radiation levels in the atmosphere. The cosmic rays wreaked havoc on the starship’s insufficient shielding and they were forced to return to earth immediately.
The crew successfully lands, and soon discovers that the rays have given them more powers than any humans have ever possessed. Reed found that his skin was malleable and that he could elongate any portion of his body at will. Each member of the fateful crew in turn discovered how they had been significantly changed.
Deciding to use this unexpected turn of events for the benefit of mankind, Reed convinced the others to band together as The Fantastic Four, Sue as The Invisible Woman, Johnny as The Human Torch, Ben as The Thing, and Reed as the stretchable Mr. Fantastic.
Mr. Fantastic was chosen to lead the group. Under his guidance, the team went on to become Earth’s most celebrated band of heroes. Together, they would save the world countless times. Ever driven by his the quest for knowledge, Reed is believed by most to be the Earth’s foremost intelligence. There is little he cannot create, fix, or understand given time. The patents and royalties on his inventions alone have funded the group over the years.

Invisible Woman (Sue Storm)

History:
Born in Glenville, Long Island, the daughter of medical doctor Franklin Storm and his wife Evelyn Storm, young Sue is smitten when she meets Reed Richards, A Columbia University graduate student 10 years her senior, who lives in a New York apartment owned by Sue’s aunt. When Reed moves on to Harvard, Sue continues to carry a torch for him so much so that, some 10 years later, while trying to establish herself in Hollywood as an actress, she looks him up at a rocket facility in Central City. The two rekindle their romance.
It was at Sue’s insistence that she and her little brother Johnny accompanied Reed and his best friend Ben on the maiden voyage of Reed’s starship.
After they crash-landed, Sue was startled when she found her physical self-starting to fade from view. In short order she realised she could turn this ability on and off and thus the Invisible Girl was born.
Sue became a founding member of the Fantastic Four. Later she realised that she could also create force fields’. These force fields could not only be used as a defensive weapon, but as offensive weapons as well. This ability greatly enhanced her usefulness to the team in combat situations.
Susan eventually married Reed and the two had a son whom they named Franklin. Due to the mutated nature of his parents, the boy became a mutant of immeasurable power. Susan, however, could not have been more happy. She and Reed vowed to give him all the love and attention he needed no matter what catastrophic event might be happening around them.

The Human Torch  (Johnny Storm)

History:
Johnny Storm was a teenager when he accompanied his older sister, Sue, and her boyfriend, Reed, and their friend, Ben, in stealing aboard Reed's experimental rocket ship to give it its test flight, but instead became transformed by the cosmic radiation that leaked through the faulty shielding to turn Johnny into a flame-powered super being. Taking his name from the Golden Age Human Torch, Johnny helped his friends in forming the Fantastic Four, and has adventured with them ever since, enjoying his identity of the Human Torch almost as much as his hobby of car racing, and had many other adventures outside the Foursome, including extensive team-ups with Spider-Man.
On the FF's encounter with the Inhumans, Johnny met and soon fell in love with Cyrstal, who later joined the Foursome as a member. There relationship did not last, and Crystal returned to her home in Attilan.

The Thing (Benjamin Grimm)

History:
Ben Grimm, former war veteran, met Reed Richards in college, and when Reed began his work on an experimental rocket ship, Ben offered his services as a pilot. When Reed actually was ready to launch, however, Ben had second thoughts, and only decided to go ahead with it when Reed's fiancee, Sue Storm, convinced him. So Ben, Reed, Susan, and her brother Johnny, took the rocket into space, where the radiation shielding proved faulty. All four were hit by intense cosmic radiation, and the ship crashed back down to Earth, where the four discovered they had all gained superhuman powers. Ben was partially crushed, mentally, with his transformation into what he regarded as a monster, but he joined the others in vowing to protect mankind. He's joined them on innumerable adventures across the entire known Multiverse (and many unknown aspects of it as well), including the Negative Zone, the Skrull Galaxy, and the underwater city of Atlantis here on Earth. During this time, he developed a relationship with Alicia Masters.

X-Men

Professor X (Charles Xavier)

History:

The full origin and early life of Charles Xavier remains to be revealed. As a young child, his father worked for a top secret research facility, perhaps tied into the Weapon X project that spawned such products as the mutant Wolverine. He died when Charles was still at an early age, and his mother remarried into the Marko family, and Charles was often abused by his older brother, Cain (later, the Juggernaut.)
Later, as an adult and fully aware of his abilities, Xavier wandered the world. He ran into Amahl Farouk, (later, the Shadow King,) when in Cairo, who tried to accost Xavier on the astral plane. After the intense battle, Xavier walked away, but Farouk was dead. Eventually, Xavier ended up in Israel, working with the Peace Corps. Briefly staying in the hospital, Xavier met and fell in love with his nurse, Gabrielle, who would later give birth to their son, David (later, Legion, ) unknown to Xavier. He also met and developed a friendship with fellow mutant, Eric Lensherr, who would eventually become his enemy Magneto. Later still, in the mountains of the Himalayas, Xavier encountered the alien calling himself Lucifer, who was in the process of dominating the world by broadcasting mental-dominating energies. Xavier defeated the alien, but was left without the use of his legs.
Soon, he also would meet and fall in love with Ameila Vought. Always wondering what to do with his abilities, Xavier would attempt to form the X-men in a School for Gifted Youngsters. For reasons of her own, Vought left Xavier before he began implementing the school. Xavier started with Jean Grey and soon developed a working team. He mentored their training and adventuring, while continually monitoring other mutant activity, whether or not they would join his "X-men" eventually. He also began creating a database of mutant sympathisers in a type of "underground railroad." .

Cyclops (Scott Summers)

History:
Cyclops' earliest memories were that of the death of his parents. He and his brother, Alex (Havok), were pushed from a doomed plane by their father, giving them the only parachute within the plane, effectively sacrificing their lives for their children’s. The chute failed to open, and this is when Scott discovered his mutant ability for the first time; optic blasts of incredible strength. Using these blasts to slow their descent, he and Alex survived. Orphaned early, he spent much of his young life in an orphanage, Alex having been adopted shortly after their arrival there. His years at the orphanage were tough, made even harder by the constant heckling and bullying of another boy named Nathan. It was much later revealed that Mr. Sinister had posed as the boy, in an attempt to sway young Scott to his cause and learn more about him.
As time went on, Scott found himself still unable to control his mutant power. It was through the help of Professor Xavier that he discovered the only thing that would keep them in check: a ruby quartz visor. He wears this protection to this day, though sometimes in the form of glasses. Professor X made him leader of the newly formed teenage mutant team called the X-Men, a job Scott never felt he was truly worthy of. Unable to even control even his mutant power, how could he lead an entire team? Yet, he did so through many perils, and it was also here that he found his first love, Jean Grey (then Marvel Girl). The two fell in love almost at first sight.

History:
Jean Grey's powers were activated at an early age, when she witnessed her friend's death from a car crash and telepathically experienced it with her. Professor Xavier noticed this, and contacted her family, training Jean in learning to control her powers. Soon, Professor X contacted other young mutants, forming the School for Gifted Youngsters and thus the X-Men. Wolverine (Logan)

History:
Much of Logan's history remains to be revealed, (including his true age,) and what history has been revealed may or may not be implanted memories or otherwise tampered memories.
It has been revealed that Logan had served in a war with a group called the Devil's Brigade and later became a freelance intelligence agent, and at one time part of a covert team of government agents with Maverick and Sabretooth.
An indeterminate time later, Logan was somehow involved in the "weapon X" program, where his bones were bonded to adamantium.
Later (or perhaps, immediately after,) Logan was found behaving as little more than an animal by James MacDonald Hudson and his wife Heather (both later known as Guardian and Vindicator.) Heather was instrumental in calming the bestial Logan, and James and Heather helped Logan regain his human self, although he was still prone to berserker rages. Logan even helped in James' Dept. H program and later at the Canadian government's request as Weapon X.
Professor Xavier later invited Logan to join his new band of X-men, and he agreed, taking the name "Wolverine." Later, James' Alpha Flight tried to re-impress Wolverine into their services, but Wolverine refused, although he has since reconciled with the team. Wolverine has stayed with the X-men since then, although he has taken leave of them occasionally to pursue his own adventures.

Rogue

History:
Rogue's career began rather questionably with the Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants, which was led by her foster mother, Mystique. Her powers took hold much earlier, manifesting at the time of her first kiss with her childhood friend Cody. Not knowing the damage it would do, she kissed him innocently, and drained him of all of his memories, leaving him in a coma. This first tragic incident caused her much pain as she realised she could never touch another living being. She later came to realise that the absorption of memories was not always permanent, but only occurred with prolonged contact. She also discovered that she could absorb another mutants powers, as well as their memories, and Mystique put this power to work by making her part of the Brotherhood.
On her first mission with the Brotherhood, she fought against a super-hero named Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers), whom she stole the powers of flight, super-strength and invulnerability from. After stealing the powers, she tried to throw Ms. Marvel from the bridge they were fighting on, but she held on to Rogue's hand trying to take her with her. She held on too long, and the absorption became permanent, leaving Rogue with all of Carol Danvers' memories and powers. Rogue disappeared from public view following that incident.
Meanwhile, Carol Danvers, now powerless and with little to no memory of her former life tried putting the pieces back together with no luck. Her quandry eventually led her to the X-Men, seeking the help of Professor X of putting her mind back together. Elsewhere, Rogue surfaced, having a brief run-in with Wolverine before escaping. A short time later, Rogue arrived on the doorstep of the X-Mansion, also seeking Professor X's help. Her mind was shattered from the continuing battle between her and Carol Danvers' psyches, and she asked for his help in piecing her mind back together. He answered her plea for help, and admitted her as part of the team. Unfortunately, Carol Danvers was not so forgiving. In the time she had spent with the X-Men, latent mutant powers had surfaced and she sent Rogue into orbit, literally, with a punch when she entered the mansion. Rogue returned to find Carol Danvers in heated discussion with Professor X. He was convinced that Rogue should be taught to control her powers so that further incidents such as the one with Carol would not happen. Carol Danvers, now Binary Star, left the mansion in a huff, never to return.
It was a rough time for Rogue as she was slowly accepted by the team, the hardest to convince being Wolverine who had been very close to Carol Danvers during the early days of his career. But eventually, through much effort and sacrifice, they came to accept her. In the early days with the team she used her power of absorption often, usually stealing their powers and memories with the kiss so often denied her in life.

The incredible Hulk

History: Bruce Banner was abused as a child by his dad. He killed his dad when he was a teenager. After colleague he became an accomplished scientist and nuclear physicist. He was working on Gamma Bomb for the US government, when Rick Jones was on the testing site for the bomb. Bruce got Jones out of the way, but he himself got bombarded with gamma rays and turned into the Hulk, as a product of Banner's split personality. (At first, such changes occurred with with the sunset, reverting at dawn. Later, Banner would change with the adrenaline rush of excitement or anger.)
For years, Banner lived as a fugitive, with the American government hunting the Hulk. At times, Banner was able to control his Hulk persona with a degree of his own intelligence, but more often than not the child-like Hulk lashed out. Over time, three distinct personalities emerged: the Gray (self-assured and cocky) Hulk, the Intelligent (Banner-driven) Hulk, and the Savage (child-like, irrational, and angry) Hulk. Eventually, the world soon knew Banner's secret identity.

Propaganda!: It never hurts to have good press! If Captain America survives the game he is worth +50 victory points.
Superhuman Pace: Captain America has three Actions per game turn.
Tank Assault (if purchased): Infantry in this period used a variety of grenades or mines to assault armoured vehicles. All members of the unit are assumed to carry Improved Anti-Tank Explosives. These may be placed on any model of Size 2 or greater with a Charge action. They will explode at the end of the charging unit’s next turn.

Bucky - History:
Separated from his sister following their parents' deaths, James Barnes became a teenage ward of the state assigned to Camp Lehigh in Virginia, where he served as camp mascot and set up a profitable endeavor providing soldiers with various non-requisition supplies. His mother had died when he was a young child; his father had died in an accident while in basic training at Camp Lehigh. He befriended a seemingly naive young private, Steve Rogers, who had recently become the government operative Captain America. One night, Barnes discovered Rogers changing into his costumed identity; sworn to secrecy, Barnes assisted Captain America on a mission against the Red Skull and was given government approval to undergo intensive training to serve as Cap's partner Bucky, in part to counter Germany's Hitler Youth movement. Not long after this, Bucky joined forces with the mutant hero Toro and four young adventurers as the Young Allies. Bucky divided his time between missions with Cap and less formal adventures with his fellow teens.
When America entered World War II after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941, Captain America and Bucky abandoned their military identities for most of the war to devote their full energies to serving as costumes freedom fighters.

This conversion project was lying on my table for nearly one year. I always wanted a WW2 version of the good Captain and his faithful companion for weird war style  WW2 games. And after reading the absolute fantastic Ultimates comics I just knew, I had to convert one.

So I picked 2 minis from the huge Superssystem range and went to work. The minis are Super Charger and Kid Dynamo (SU10). I then sculpted some WW2 style belts and straps with greenstuff. Pouches and gear is from Tamiya and Assault Group. The old style shield is (IIRC) a GW High Elf plastic shield. Shield grip is again sculpted in green stuff. Just check the pre-paint pictures to get the idea. After that a nice old fashioned all American paint job! DONE!

15mm Version

Supersystem is producing a nice range of 15mm Supers. One of them can be painted as the good Captain! I used some 6mm US aircraft transfers for the stars, the A on Steve forehead is freehand painted, the base is King&Kerr.

Just to show how tiny the mini is...

The Red Skull

Just a small conversion for Captain America to fight... His age old enemy the Red Skull. Mini is by Peter Pig with a skull head swap (as the German Shepherd from also PP).

Rules to use the Red Skull in games of Battlefield Evolution: Worl at War:

Captain America can be taken as a Command Asset for every German army

Red Skull – 150 points

As with many supervillains, Johann Schmidt had a traumatic childhood that warped his mind, paving the way for villainy in his adult life. He grew up as an orphan on the streets as a beggar and a thief struggling to survive and his hatred of humanity grew with each day. A key episode was when he fell for a local Jewish girl, but when she spurned his clumsy advances, he murdered her, finding a release for his frustrations. With that, his depravity grew even more.
Schmidt worked as a menial labourer and in his late teens, during the rise of the Third Reich, Schmidt got his most prosperous job; a bellhop in a major hotel, while there he served the rooms of Adolf Hitler himself. By chance, Schmidt was present when the Führer was furiously scolding an officer, during which Hitler pledged that he could create a better National Socialist out of the bellhop. Looking closely at the youth and sensing his dark inner nature, Hitler decided to take up the challenge and recruited Schmidt.
Dissatisfied with the standard drill instruction his subordinates used to train Schmidt, Hitler took over personally, and trained Schmidt as his right-hand man. Upon completion, Hitler gave Schmidt a unique uniform with a grotesque red skull mask, and he emerged as the Red Skull for the first time. His role was the embodiment of Nazi intimidation, while Hitler could remain the popular leader of Germany. To that end, the Red Skull was appointed head of Nazi terrorist activities with an additional large role in external espionage and sabotage. He succeeded, wreaking havoc throughout Europe in the early stages of World War II. The propaganda effect was so great that the United States government decided to counter it by creating their own equivalent using the one recipient of the lost Project Rebirth, Steve Rogers, as Captain America.
Despite the scar tissue covering his face and head, his senses were still above-average. He has been shown as a hand to hand combatant and martial artist on par with Captain America himself, originally trained by German athletes appointed by Hitler, and is heavily trained as a skilled marksman with various forms of handguns, and well-versed in the use of fire arms and explosives.

Unit: Red Skull (unit leader) with Prototype Pistol

Alert: The Red Skull and every unit he joins increase their reaction range to 12” (see Page 25 of the Battlefield Evolution: World at War book).
Confusion: The Red Skull can spread confusion and disorganisation into his enemies. After both armies have deployed their units, choose one of the Assets in your opponent’s army and redeploy it anywhere within your opponent’s deployment zone.
Dust of Death: The Red Skull typically armed himself with a trick cigarette that could fire fatal poison gas — his trademark "Dust of Death" — toward his victim. The "Dust of Death" is a red powder which kills a victim within seconds of skin contact. The powder causes the skin of the victim's head to shrivel, tighten, and take on a red discoloration, while causing the hair to fall out. Hence the victim's head resembles a "red skull".
The Dust of Death count any Damage Dice that equal or beat an infantry model’s Target characteristic as a Kill instead.
Elite Training: The Red Skull gain a +1 bonus to his Armour rolls when in Cover. He may also re-roll his Close Combat dice.
Fanatic: The Red Skull and every unit he joins automatically discards all Suppression dice.
Stealthy: If this unit is in Cover and did not make a Shoot action or reaction in the last turn, enemy models more than 20” away may not draw Line of Sight to it.
Terrifying Leader: The Red Skull he is a highly gifted military and subversive strategist and mastermind. He also possesses an intellect and inventive genius on the level of supervillains such as Doctor Doom.
By performing a Ready action he may give one friendly infantry unit within Line of Sight of him one bonus (third) action per turn. He can use this ability in addition to his Command trait. A unit can still only take one bonus action.
Unseen: The Red Skull is trained to get the most out of every cover. He always counts as being in one level of Cover higher. When in Light Cover he will count as being in Medium Cover, and when in Medium Cover he will count as being in Heavy Cover.
